Compensation
Healveda Care is currently in its pre-launch development phase and is not offering a cash retainer during the initial 12-week term.
The selected physician will receive an equity-based, deferred-cash, or combined compensation arrangement. The exact compensation, vesting terms, payment triggers, ownership rights, tax treatment, termination consequences, and treatment of completed work must be documented in a signed agreement before any services begin.
This is not an unpaid volunteer position. No physician will be expected to begin work based on an informal promise of future compensation.
A separate compensated clinical-services agreement will be required before the physician provides patient care, orders laboratory testing, reviews patient-specific results, supervises clinical personnel, manages abnormal findings, or assumes formal Medical Director responsibilities.
About Healveda Care
Healveda Care is building a coordinated, accountable, and outcomes-focused model for people living with autoimmune, hormonal, thyroid, and other complex chronic conditions.
Our existing foundation includes:
- A community of more than 10,000 people
- More than 200 verified paying users
- A network of approximately 40 health experts
- An established candidate inventory of laboratory tests for the autoimmune program
- A founder-led model centered on longitudinal outcomes, patient safety, measurable follow-through, and responsible access to emerging treatments
The candidate laboratory inventory has already been assembled. Healveda Care is not seeking a physician to disregard the existing work and begin from nothing.
The physician must, however, retain independent clinical judgment and have the authority to recommend that a test be added, removed, deferred, repeated, restricted, or used only when clinically indicated. Patient safety and medical necessity must take priority over preserving any existing panel unchanged.
Patients with complex conditions are frequently given laboratory results without coordination, context, longitudinal comparison, or a clear next step. Healveda Care is building the infrastructure between testing and accountable follow-through.
The Opportunity
The Founding Medical Director Designate will work with Healveda Care’s founder to develop the clinical-governance framework required for a controlled autoimmune laboratory pilot.
During the initial 12-week term, the role is limited to program design, physician-level review, safety planning, clinical-workflow development, and launch-readiness assessment.
The role does not authorize the physician to practice medicine through Healveda Care during the pre-launch period. It does not create a physician-patient relationship, ordering authority, on-call responsibility, or responsibility for patient-specific results.
Following funding, legal review, and operational activation, the physician may be considered for appointment as Healveda Care’s formal Medical Director under a separate agreement. That transition is not automatic and will require mutually acceptable compensation, authority, licensing, malpractice coverage, clinical infrastructure, and professional-entity arrangements.
This is not a ceremonial title. The physician will help determine whether Healveda Care’s proposed model can be activated safely and what must be corrected before the first patient enters the program.
Initial Responsibilities
1. Validate the Candidate Testing Model
- Review Healveda Care’s candidate laboratory inventory for clinical appropriateness, medical necessity, duplication, limitations, and patient-safety concerns
- Recommend whether each test belongs at baseline, monthly, quarterly, annually, or only when clinically triggered
- Identify which tests require individualized justification rather than routine ordering
- Define preparation requirements, medication considerations, fasting requirements, collection timing, contraindications, and relevant limitations
- Identify tests that may create misleading results when interpreted without sufficient clinical context
- Review reference-range, biological-variation, and trend-interpretation considerations
- Recommend additions, removals, restrictions, or substitutions when supported by evidence and patient safety
- Document the clinical reasoning behind material recommendations
2. Establish Clinical Governance
- Develop proposed eligibility, exclusion, and escalation criteria
- Define the informed-consent and patient-education requirements
- Establish categories for expected, abnormal, urgent, critical, and potentially life-threatening findings
- Recommend response and escalation timeframes for each category
- Design a closed-loop system showing who receives each result, who reviews it, what action is required, and how completion is confirmed
- Define proposed responsibilities for the ordering clinician, Medical Director, laboratory partner, specialist, care coordinator, technology platform, and patient
- Identify which actions require licensed clinical judgment
- Establish documentation and audit requirements
- Define what happens when the responsible clinician cannot be reached
- Establish no-launch and stop-work criteria when required safety resources are unavailable
3. Build the Laboratory Pathway
- Help convert the candidate testing inventory into proposed order sets
- Evaluate Quest, Labcorp, and other qualified laboratory-integration options
- Identify questions involving test codes, specimen collection, redraws, reflex testing, turnaround times, cancellations, substitutions, result delivery, and billing
- Recommend an appropriate physician-authorization and clinical-review model
- Identify state-specific restrictions affecting ordering and result review
- Clarify which entity will order tests, maintain medical records, receive results, and manage follow-up
- Determine what documentation must support medical necessity
- Assess whether Healveda Care will use outside reference laboratories rather than operate a laboratory
- Identify when separate laboratory-director qualifications or CLIA responsibilities could apply
The Founding Medical Director Designate will not be represented as the director of a CLIA-certified laboratory unless separately qualified, formally appointed, and covered by an appropriate written agreement.
4. Develop the Outcomes Framework
- Define how Healveda Care will evaluate whether a patient is improving, worsening, or remaining unchanged
- Establish a monthly review framework incorporating laboratory trends, symptoms, functional status, adverse events, care-plan completion, and specialist recommendations
- Identify which laboratory changes are clinically meaningful rather than merely outside a reference range
- Define how conflicting recommendations from multiple clinicians should be identified and escalated
- Establish how treatment response, treatment burden, safety, and cost should be documented
- Develop questions addressing whether an expensive intervention produced a measurable outcome sufficient to justify continuing it
- Identify stop, reassess, escalate, and specialist-referral triggers
- Establish a process for documenting adverse reactions and treatment-related risk
- Define how unresolved findings remain visible until responsibly addressed
- Prevent the platform from presenting correlation, automated summaries, or AI-generated observations as medical conclusions
5. Guide Healveda’s Technology Development
- Translate the proposed clinical process into requirements for Healveda Care’s product and development teams
- Advise on ordering workflows, scheduling, result ingestion, trend tracking, clinical-review queues, alerts, and follow-up closure
- Establish guardrails for patient notifications
- Define what the patient may see before a clinician reviews a result
- Help distinguish informational explanations from medical advice
- Review patient-facing laboratory descriptions for accuracy, readability, and safety
- Identify access-control, audit-history, and documentation requirements
- Define what must happen when data are missing, delayed, duplicated, corrected, or assigned to the wrong patient
- Identify failure modes involving notification delivery, clinician availability, and incomplete follow-up
- Ensure that technology supports clinical judgment without making unsupported diagnoses or automated treatment decisions
6. Prepare the Controlled Pilot
- Help design an initial pilot for approximately 25–50 participants
- Define pilot inclusion, exclusion, consent, withdrawal, and escalation requirements
- Establish launch-readiness and patient-safety criteria
- Define measurements involving test completion, turnaround time, redraws, result delivery, abnormal-result response, specialist referral, and follow-up closure
- Define monthly patient-outcome measures
- Establish incident-reporting and corrective-action processes
- Identify failures requiring the pilot to pause
- Recommend the minimum staffing, clinical coverage, technology, laboratory, insurance, and documentation required before activation
- Participate in a formal go/no-go readiness review
Initial 90-Day Deliverables
The initial term should produce:
- A physician-reviewed testing inventory
- A testing-frequency and medical-necessity framework
- Patient eligibility, exclusion, and escalation criteria
- A proposed laboratory-ordering and clinical-review model
- A critical-result and urgent-escalation protocol
- A closed-loop follow-up workflow
- A clinical responsibility matrix
- A laboratory-partner assessment
- Clinical and safety requirements for the Healveda Care platform
- A monthly outcomes and treatment-value framework
- A clinical risk register
- A pilot protocol for approximately 25–50 participants

These are development deliverables. They do not authorize Healveda Care to begin patient care.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited institution
- Active and unrestricted United States medical license
- No unresolved professional restrictions that would prevent the contemplated work
- Nevada medical licensure or a realistic pathway to Nevada licensure strongly preferred
- Relevant training or experience in rheumatology, internal medicine, family medicine, clinical immunology, endocrinology, pathology, laboratory medicine, or complex chronic care
- Strong understanding of laboratory interpretation, medical necessity, clinical escalation, and patient-safety monitoring
- Ability to distinguish clinical care from wellness education
- Commitment to evidence-informed medicine, patient autonomy, informed consent, and closed-loop follow-up
- Ability to document clinical reasoning and identify unsupported assumptions
- Willingness to work directly with an early-stage founder while preserving independent medical judgment
- Ability to obtain appropriate malpractice coverage before clinical activation
- Willingness to participate in legal, licensing, insurance, and compliance review before launch
Particularly Strong Candidates
This opportunity may be especially relevant to:
- Physicians seeking meaningful healthcare leadership experience
- Licensed physicians completing an MPH, MBA, MHA, or health-informatics program
- Physicians with experience designing clinical protocols or care pathways
- Physicians with personal or family experience involving autoimmune or chronic illness
- Clinicians interested in digital health, laboratory medicine, patient safety, or care-model innovation
- Physicians who understand both clinical risk and product development
- Physicians who want to help shape a company before its clinical model becomes fixed
Clinical Independence
The physician’s clinical judgment must remain independent.
Healveda Care’s founder may define the company’s mission, patient problem, operational objectives, and existing work. The physician must retain authority over their own medical recommendations and must identify any part of the proposed model that they believe is unsafe, unsupported, outside scope, or inconsistent with professional standards.
No business, financial, product, or growth objective may override patient safety or the physician’s professional obligations.
Important Pre-Launch Boundary
During the initial 12-week term, the Founding Medical Director Designate will not:
- Sign patient laboratory orders
- Diagnose or treat patients
- Establish physician-patient relationships through Healveda Care
- Personally review or interpret patient-specific results
- Manage urgent or critical findings
- Provide on-call clinical coverage
- Prescribe medications or treatments
- Supervise live clinical personnel
- Represent Healveda Care as an active medical practice
- Act as a CLIA laboratory director unless separately qualified and appointed
- Allow their name or license to be used for clinical operations that they do not control
- Approve launch before required safety conditions are satisfied
Those responsibilities may begin only after the appropriate professional structure, written clinical-services agreement, compensation, Nevada licensure, malpractice coverage, laboratory relationships, privacy safeguards, medical-record system, escalation coverage, and operating procedures are active.
Why This Matters
People with complex autoimmune and chronic conditions are frequently forced to coordinate disconnected testing, specialists, treatments, and follow-up on their own.
A laboratory result should not disappear into a patient portal without interpretation, responsibility, or a documented next step. An expensive treatment should not be considered successful merely because it was completed. Every intervention should be examined through measurable outcomes, patient safety, adverse effects, functional improvement, and continued clinical justification.
Healveda Care is building a model in which testing begins a process of accountable follow-through.
The physician who joins during this stage will help define what responsible testing, monthly outcome review, and closed-loop patient safety should look like before the program reaches its first patient.
About the Founder
Sweta Patel is an entrepreneur, investigator, and advocate who built Healveda Care after years of doing the work that failed systems left undone. She preserved evidence, connected critical information, found the right professionals, and pushed serious health questions forward when others would not.
She created Healveda Care to build the coordination and accountability that people with complex health conditions are routinely expected to create for themselves. Her leadership is grounded in persistence, judgment, and the conviction that complexity should never become an excuse for leaving a patient without direction.
